Equipment
Lacrosse Stick- We suggest that every player have 2 sticks in case one breaks.
There may also be times that we ask a player to play defense and we can provide
those sticks to see if he likes it first! Do not forget your jersey set and cleats for
tournaments!

Tent Village/Camping Out
Parents should bring tents, table, chairs, coolers, plenty of water, snacks, trash
bags, gatorades. The days are long and usually hot. We’ll need parents to help
coordinate the above so as not to waste or double up anything, but if everyone
takes an active role, the kids will have plenty of nutrition to play and the
parents plenty of comfort to watch lacrosse!We ask that all Hawksbills team mingle together, so if there are more than one
team at a tournament, coordinate with the other team parents to find a suitable
place to set up camp (we’ll help with this).Our goal is to have a team meal on Saturday night, if parents can help
coordinate.

Parking
Some tournaments are more parent friendly than others. We’ll do our best to
provide you with field maps and parking locations, but be prepared to arrive
over an hour early to the fields to give time to find a parking spot and get a
“tent village” set up for the teams.

Schedule
We will not know the tournament game schedule until a few days before. Tournament directors will allow teams to register a week out and some teams drop out, causing a delay in finalizing the schedule. Be prepared to find out your teams’ game schedule as late as Thursday before the Saturday start. It is best practice to reserve a hotel for Friday and Saturday night. If you find out on Thursday that you have time to drive up Saturday morning, there is no penalty to cancel one night of a two-night stay.

Hotels
We use a travel agency to find us hotel block rates. We’ll post to the parent website and in the GroupMe. We ask that all players stay at the same hotel so they can bond outside of the tournament games, but we understand that if you find a better rate, use reward points, have family to stay with, then by all means.

Behavior
- We all represent the Hawksbills program—coaches, players, parents, and fans alike. How we carry ourselves at these tournaments truly matters. What makes these lacrosse tournaments and travel teams special is that everyone shares a love for the game. It's something we all have in common.
- We encourage positive communication with the kids. Parents and fans are welcome to cheer on the boys throughout the game, whether we're up, down, or tied. Let's leave the coaching to the coaches, as we're teaching the players to focus and not get distracted by the sideline.
- When it comes to the officials, unless (or even if) you’ve taken the time to become one yourself, it’s best to refrain from commenting on their calls. They do make mistakes, but when our coaching staff addresses those, it often leads to a fair resolution. However, if they’re getting pressured from both sides, it can make things more difficult.
- Sports can be intense, and we all make mistakes. Let's remember that we're all ambassadors for the Hawksbills and for SavannahLacrosse.
- Lastly, if you have any suggestions or concerns, please wait 24 hours after the tournament before bringing them to the coaching staff. However, I’m (Christian) always available, so if it’s urgent, feel free to reach out to me directly.
